A neutral entity model can hold a state, a civilisation or a people without making recognition a hidden boolean.

The legend is part of the map.
Opened Atlas is designed as a living geographic-temporal knowledge system. In the pilot, that ambition becomes a small promise: every important number and line should tell you what it means, where it came from and how certain it is.
Scope before scale
Metropolitan France, the whole French Republic, administered China and statistical China remain named records.
Claims ≠ administration
Political geometry has an actor, a type, a date, a source and a legend. A claim never quietly becomes a border.
Trust ≠ confidence
A source can be maximum trust for what an institution officially says while the resulting historical estimate remains medium confidence.
Unknown is valid
Not available, not comparable and outside this scope are first-class states—not empty space to be filled with invented precision.
No pilot rankings
A two-entity universe is not a meaningful rank. v0.1 shows raw values, trends and compatibility states only.
